Use the Create Your Plate Registration
Search to look for the plate
that brings your name, company name, initials or some other aspect
of your personal identity to life. It’s been built to give you
the best possible help in finding a really great plate.
You can search on your 3 initials, your name if it is JON, BOB,
KAY etc, or a shortened form of your name like JAK.

Often, the best plate for you won’t
be the most obvious one.

If, when you’ve searched our database, you’ve
come up with the perfect registration for you, or with the ideal
registration
to buy for someone as a gift, you will be taken to a payment screen
to enter your credit card details. We take internet security very
seriously indeed, and our order form uses the securest possible
current technologies.
We
accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Visa Delta and Solo payment
cards or if you would like finance for your registration please view our directory of personal loan companies
When ordering your plate, please note that you must provide details
of the registered keeper of the vehicle to which you plan to attach
it. You will be unable to have the plate registered to the vehicle
if there is any discrepancy between the current registration document
and the Certificate of Entitlement issued when you purchase the
new registration.
If you intend to have the registration put on
a new vehicle at purchase, it is imperative that the details you
supply to us match those you have given to the garage you’re
buying the vehicle from. (For example, if you enter your full name
when you order your vehicle, then you should also give your full
name when you order the registration from us.)
Once we’ve successfully processed your order, we’ll
write to you. This will generally be about one week after you placed
the order. Where the registration is one which we hold on a DVLA
Certificate of Entitlement, we’ll send this to you with easy
to follow details of how to transfer the registration to your vehicle,
and a list of the DVLA offices through which you can do this.

Where
the registration is not held on a Certificate, we’ll
ask you to send us your logbook and insurance documents, so
that
we can arrange the transfer for you.
There are no further costs associated with the transfer. The price
we quoted for your registration included all costs involved in
transferring the registration to your vehicle. The only thing you
still have to pay for is the cost of the actual plastic plates. Once you
receive your Create Your Plate Purchase
Pack, you should obtain a set of replacement number plates from
your local motor spares
shop, bearing your new registration. We recommend Halfords for this
service, but most motor accessory shops will be able to assist
you.
Since January 2003, the law has stipulated that in order to purchase
registration plates you must provide not only proof of entitlement,
but also proof of your identity. Further information about this will
be included when we write to you.

It’s
illegal to make your vehicle appear newer than it is. You can
only transfer a registration the same age as your car, or denoting
a year earlier than the original registration plate. So, if
you have a car or motorbike that was first registered in 1985, you may not
attach a registration prefix issued in, say, 1997.

If your vehicle
originally bore an A-Y classic Prefix registration
For cars originally registered
in the Classic Prefix years (A through to Y), this means
you can choose another Classic
Prefix plate beginning with any letter from "A" up
to the letter you currently have.
Thus, a J registered
vehicle may be given a new plate bearing any registration
in the A through to J Classic Prefix range. |

If your vehicle originally
bore a current system registration
If your vehicle was originally
registered from September 2001 onwards, it will have a
new format registration (51,
02, 52 etc).
Again, you cannot make your vehicle look newer
than it is, but it can be given any old Classic Prefix
plate, as well as a current system plate earlier or the
same as that of the vehicle’s original registration.
That means, for example, that a 52 registered vehicle can
have an A through to Y Classic Prefix registration, or
a 51, 02 or 52 from the current system. |
